What Are The Best Anti-Aging Treatments for 2019?

Aging is an inevitable process; we all age. However, anti-aging treatments give us the opportunity to maintain our youthful appearance much longer, allowing us to feel younger too!

We’re all searching for the fountain of youth, but for now, we can settle for some great anti-aging treatments.

As their name suggests, anti-aging products and procedures are those designed to prevent and slow the aging process. You have many to choose from, but here are some of our favorites:

Botox & Cosmetic Fillers

Botox and cosmetic fillers offer dramatic and quick results. In fact, they seem to work almost like magic when it comes to wrinkles (now you see them; now you don’t).

Botox has been around for years and is perfect as an anti-aging treatment for the face. Botox gets rid of lines on the upper face, including the forehead, between your brows, and around your eyes (crow’s feet).

Botox remains the #1 aesthetic treatment out there, partly because it is so effective and works so quickly. That being said it can still take up to 10 days for the full effects to set in. So, if you are choosing Botox to get ready for an event, do plan accordingly.

Cosmetic Fillers

Cosmetic fillers also effectively turn back time. And there are several fillers to choose from, depending on which signs of aging you are trying to correct.

  • Juvederm can be used for moderate to severe parentheses lines and wrinkles around the nose and mouth. It can also be used to augment the lips and lasts 6 to 12 months (depending on where you are having it injected).
  • Volbella is also fairly new and is great for those vertical lines (smoker’s lines or water bottle lines) above the lip. Volbella is also great for those violin string lines some have on the cheeks. It can also be used in the lips for a hydrated look, it does not add volume (to the lips). Volbella lasts up to 12 months.
  • Voluma is designed to create or replace volume loss in the cheek area. If you get Voluma injected, you’ll see that it not only creates a nice curve of the cheek but it also lifts and smoothes the lower face . Fuller cheeks are a sign of youth, so restoring them really refreshes the face. Voluma lasts up to 2 years.

IPL (Intense Pulsed Light)

Another anti-aging treatment, IPL, which stands for Intense Pulsed Light, is great for addressing sun spots and pigmentation. As we age, the years of sun exposure tend to show up on our skin.

Some call the effect sun damage or age spots. IPL does a great job in getting rid of this type of pigmentation. By erasing the sun damage, your skin looks clear, smooth, and much younger.

You will need a series of treatments (approximately 3). After that, you may find that you need 1 to 2 treatments after each summer season is over.

Microneedling with Growth Factor

Microneedling is collagen induction therapy. As we age, our bodies are constantly depleting collagen and not making collagen as quickly. You’ll start to notice the effects on your skin.

When collagen depletes faster than it can be replaced, your skin becomes lax, which leads to thinning skin, lines, and wrinkles.

Microneedling with growth factor pushes your body into a healing mode, in which it begins to overproduce collagen and elastic to thicken and plump the skin.

Microneedling is also great for addressing other skin issues like acne scars.

CO2 Laser Skin Rejuvenation

Meanwhile, CO2 laser skin rejuvenation is another fantastic option to reset your skin. However, unlike the other anti-aging treatments mentioned above, this procedure does come with a few days of downtime.

During this procedure, small laser wounds are made to stimulate new skin formation. Thus, this procedure does a great job of resurfacing skin with fine lines, wrinkles, and even acne scars. It also improves all-over skin texture, reduces pore size, and firms and tightens the skin.

A regular skincare regimen is also effective when combating signs of aging. Not just any skincare routine will do, though. You should focus on using good, high-quality-ingredient products.

Yes, medical grade skincare product do cost a little more initially, but the products last longer, because you don’t have to use as much of them as over the counter or beauty counter products.  These products are more potent so a little goes a long way.

It may also take a little longer to see results with these products, because they are working from within the skin up to the surface, instead of only addressing the surface.

You can correct so much with skincare. High-quality skincare is a great way to maintain results from anti-aging treatments and procedures as well!
