It’s summertime and we want to make sure that your skin is looking its best! That can be difficult as the summer season takes a toll on your skin. From spending more time in the sun to dealing with heat and humidity, summer months can wreak havoc on the skin. Luckily, the HydraFacial ™ is an amazing way to give your skin a much-needed boost while also taking care of skin problems you may have.
In this article, you will learn what a HydraFacial treatment is all about and how it can help you take care of yourself over the summer months.
What is a HydraFacial skin treatment?
A HydraFacial is an in-office skin treatment that combines the benefits of cosmetic hydraulics with microdermabrasion, extractions, and anti-aging products. This vortex technology uses pressure and suction to provide thorough exfoliation while simultaneously delivering serums, peels, or other treatments right onto the skin’s surface.
This multi-step treatment cleanses, evenly exfoliates, and extracts to remove impurities and dead skin cells while simultaneously replenishing vital nutrients including antioxidants, peptides, and hyaluronic acid.
Thanks to the devices’ superior delivery system, these dynamic ingredients are able to more effectively help mitigate environmental damage, reduce fine lines and wrinkles, to plump and firm skin for long-term results you can see and feel instantly.
What can you expect during a treatment?
When booking a HydraFacial ™ treatment, you can expect a thorough skin analysis and consultation, deep pore cleansing, extractions if necessary, and mask application (if you get the HydraFacial+ treatment), while you sit fully reclined. This relaxing and soothing skin treatment will help your skin to look youthful, radiant, and dewy. WIFH offers both a signature HydraFacial and the HydraFacial+, so you can have different treatment options to choose from.
- Immediately following treatment, your skin may be a little pink. This will typically subside in a few hours but can last as long as 24 hours. This is normal.
- Always wear sunscreen.
- You are able to apply make-up right away although many don’t want to put anything on their skin because it looks so fresh and polished.
- Use only gentle cleansers for 3 days post-treatment. Do not use a Clarisonic or powered cleansing brush during that time as well.
- Refrain from using any exfoliating or acid-based skincare products for 3 days
- After 3 days you can resume your normal skincare regimen.
What are the benefits of this skin treatment?
The HydraFacial provides exceptional skin hydration by replacing lost lipids from dry or damaged skin cells. It also provides a deep decongestant that can improve the appearance of enlarged pores and blackheads.
When pores get clogged (with sebum, dirt, or dead skin cells), it can result in breakouts, dull-looking skin, and other skin problems. Properly exfoliating your skin regularly (through a treatment like this) can radically improve the appearance of your skin.
In addition to exfoliating your skin, it’s a wonderful way to revitalize your skin by adding back essential moisture into dry or parched skin. That’s one of the reasons why this skin treatment is so helpful for dry, mature, or aging skin.
How often should you book a HydraFacial session?
A Hydrafacial™ treatment is recommended at least every six months, but can also be done every 2-weeks or each month, depending on skin type. Since there’s no “down-time” from this popular skin treatment, you can do it anytime you want to look refreshed. It is especially beneficial during summertime. This is often when you’re spending the most time outdoors in the heat and direct sun. Both lead to unwanted skin problems. Plus, it’s great for preparing for a special event (such as a date, wedding, birthday celebration, or social outing).
What skin problems can a HydraFacial treat?
Below are common skin problems that can be addressed with this treatment:
- Fine lines and wrinkles
- Elasticity and firmness
- Skin tone
- Skin texture
- Sun damage and hyperpigmentation
- Congested skin
- Enlarged pores
What are some good tips and ideas to incorporate into your summer beauty routine?
Aside from regularly cleansing, moisturizing, and protecting your sun (with sunscreen), incorporating a HydraFacial™ treatment into your summer beauty routine is a great way to enhance the appearance of your skin.
It’s also helpful to wear hats (to prevent sun damage, which is one of the causes of premature skin aging). In addition to this, skincare experts recommend using a Vitamin C serum on your face each day (prior to applying sunscreen), as it provides a further barrier against UV damage, as it contains glow-boosting antioxidants that fight free radicals.
Between your regular at-home skincare routine and getting this popular skin treatment, your skin will start to look youthful, fresh, and dewy.
