Injectable Collagen Stimulator

Bringing Back That Youthful Fullness With Sculptra

What is Sculptra?

Sculptra is an injectable biostimulator filler that was approved by the FDA for aesthetic use in 2009. The main ingredient in Sculptra is poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) which is classified as a collagen stimulator that provides long-lasting, natural-looking results that can last up to two years.

Sculptra is used to get rid of wrinkles and folds on the face. It is a great way to have gradual change to restore youthful volume and texture. It has been approved by doctors to treat loss of volume, especially in the cheeks, jawline, temples, and wrinkles on the chin.

Sculptra can also be used to perform non-surgical butt lifts (BBL). For BBL, Sculptra is injected into the buttocks to add more shape and volume. Sculptra in the buttocks is a great way to stimulate collagen reproduction and to enhance a patient’s natural curves. Using Sculptra allows the patient to achieve a rounder fuller look without having to go through an invasive surgery.

How Does Sculptra Work?

Wrinkles on the face can be lessened by injecting Sculptra into the skin. It contains PLLA, which works to stimulate your body’s own collagen production to help reduce fine lines, wrinkles and folds in the skin. This makes the skin look smoother and younger. You will not see results right away, but in 6-12 months you will see the treatment taking effect.

Here at WIFH, we will help you figure out how many sessions you need to get the best results. On average, most of our patients will come in for 2-3 sessions over the course of three to four months.

For Sculptra BBL injections, we have a minimum requirement of 10 syringes. It takes up to 6 months to see full results that will last 2-3 years. Most patients will need 2-3 sessions to achieve desired results.

What Areas Can Be Treated With Sculptra

Preparing for Sculptra Injections

There are no special instructions to prepare for Sculptra treatment. However, to reduce the risk of bleeding, you may want to stop taking NSAIDs such as aspirin and ibuprofen a few days before treatment.

Arnica supplements can be taken a week prior to your Sculptra treatment date to help with post injection bruising. This will help speed up the fading of bruising, if any.

What to Expect During Sculptra

On the day of your first Sculptra treatment, one of our experts will map the injection sites on the skin and will clean the area where the injections will be given.

A local anesthetic may be used to ease any pain, and then your clinician will make several small injections.

What Happens During A Sculptra Treatment

Facial Sculptra Injection Aftercare

Most people can get Sculptra injections and go back to their normal lives right away. Most side effects, like swelling and bruises, are mild and go away in a few days.

Following treatment, post care will involve a massage of the area for five minutes, five times a day for five days.

Aftercare for Sculptra in Buttocks

There will be an initial volume increase that is caused by the sterile water used to suspend the Sculptra particles for injection. During the first day or two following the treatment, your body will naturally absorb this water.

The treatment area should be lightly massaged by the patient for about 5 days after treatment to ensure the Sculptra particles are distributed evenly throughout the buttocks to help deliver the fullest appearance.

Results will appear gradually, this process does take time. We will monitor your progress at each of your Sculptra sessions. Avoid strenuous exercise for at least 2 days in order to reduce swelling and bruising. You may resume other daily activities/routines immediately after treatment.
